India is embracing development strategies and introducing projects to shift the economy significantly. Yamuna Expressway, which is also referred to as the Taj Expressway, is one of the extensive projects launched by the Government of Uttar Pradesh.

A Brief History

The idea of this ultimate expressway was conceived by acquiring an approach to reduce the traveling time between Delhi NCR and Agra. The Government of Uttar Pradesh commenced the project in 2001, led by Rajnath Singh. 

What International Projects Have Yamuna Expressway Captured?

The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) stands to become a hub for international companies. It is stimulating interest from industrialists within and outside of the country. 

As many as 1,564 industrialists have a perspective to invest, resulting in a surge in opportunities for employment. Many projects are on the verge of completion, while have just begun. 

Here is a list of a few notable companies that have sparked an interest and marked their presence along this expressway.

Vivo 

Vivo, an international smartphone brand, is operating through a 50-acre manufacturing plant  set-up in Greater Noida, along Yamuna Expressway. That is where a mass production of 24 lakh mobile phones happens annually. Their first phrase of expansion on this expressway alone is crafting an opportunity of 25,000 jobs a year. 

Vivo was also allotted 169-acre land by (YEIDA). They are to set up their manufacturing plant in Gautam Buddh Nagar and have an estimated investment of ₹ 3,500 crore. 

Bikanervala 

The name ‘Bikanervala’ twinkles brightly on the list of exclusive restaurants in and outside of India. They have now constructed a meticulous set-up of a food processing unit along with the Yamuna Expressway. 

The Bikanervala is renowned for their outstanding production of sweet snacks and for offering a memorable dining experience. They supply it to their outlets throughout the country and abroad, now coming to Yamuna Expressway as well. Their initial investment has welcomed a vast growth of the food processing industry.

Avery Dennison

Avery Dennison is a leading name in global materials science and manufacturing. They serve customer demands while optimizing the new technology and leveraging the improved efficiencies. Avery Dennison has fortified its presence in India by commencing its project on the Yamuna Expressway. 

They have announced a 250 cr investment to set up the manufacturing plant. Their expansion plays a pivotal role in the strategy to reinforce the commitment to promote India’s growth. 

They have acquired about 12 acres of land and will work in the production of technologically advanced and pressure-sensitive materials to serve the labeling and packaging industry. They aim to integrate the finest practices and be provisioned with the latest high-speed coating technology. 

Patanjali Ayurved

Patanjali, a well-established brand in the FMCG sector, has introduced its manufacturing unit in Greater Noida along the Yamuna Expressway. The unit is said to present a wide range of Ayurvedic products, including:

• Health supplement 
• Cosmetics 
• Personal care products

The company has acquired 455 acres out of which 25 acres are set up for institutional use. The initial plan is to set up a research area and a university around the 25 acres. The location of Patanjali in Yamuna Expressway is around sectors 24, 24A, and 22B on a 120-meter wide road. 

LG Electronics

LG Electronics is a prominent South Korean multinational company that now also has set up their manufacturing unit on the Yamuna Expressway. With their unit on the expressway, there is a set up of significant production of electronics in India. 

Yingtong Electronic Technology

9.8 acres of land have been allotted to the leading brand Yingtong Electronic Technology. Yingtong Electronic Technology, along with another Chinese firm, is expected to generate a high number of employment opportunities in the country. 

The firm is famed for its quality production of headphones and USB cables. A bright future could be expected with a thriving result by the involvement of Yingtong Electronic Technology in Yamuna Expressway.

Surya Global Flexi Pvt Ltd

Surya Global Flexi Pvt Ltd has invested around Rs 953.3 crore in Yamuna Expressway and bought a 38-acre land offering job opportunities to hundreds of people. The firm deals with flexible packaging film and printing. The company promises an established growth opportunity in the country in the future. 

Haldiram Snacks Pvt Ltd

Haldiram is a 4 million dollar company and has become a familiar sight on shelves across the USA, UK, and the Middle East. They have been delivering unwavering service for the past sixty years.
